Welcome back to another edition of devInterviews!
This particular devInterview was done by allegrabear.
bailey--elizabeth is a very popular artist. She excels in nearly all mediums, from digital art to writing, and photography to traditional art. She is greatly recognized in this community as being a vital talent and her deviations are always on the front page. With two Daily Deviations to her name, bailey--elizabeth has risen to internet fame on pure talent and a great personality.
First, could you tell us a little bit about yourself?
My name is Bailey Elizabeth and I'm seventeen years old. Also, I killed your father, and I have six fingers. Prepare to die. ...Uhh. But for real. I have an unhealthy obsession with deer antlers and the show Supernatural. I fancy when people have handwriting that looks like it came out of the 18th century. I have major issues with germs, and have seriously OCD organizational tendencies, aaandddd.... hm. I greatly dislike the way Kiefer Sutherland looks. I don't even know why. He's not ugly or anything, he just seriously creeps me out. I think it's the eyes. Either way, it keeps me from watching 24.
When did you first join deviantart and how did you find it?
I joined it June 12, 2007, and found it through Supernatural fan art. LOL.
How did you choose your deviantArt username?
I don't know... I was young thought it sounded cool when I first became a member of dA. Now I think it's ridiculous. But what can ya do!
“to whom it may concern”
Do you think that being a part of DeviantArt has helped you grow as an artist?
It definitely has. The feedback and support that I've gotten from everyone has helped me to learn and grow as a photographer, illustrator, and writer. Not to mention a lot of people have really interesting views, stories, and opinions that they share with me and help me expand my outlook on not only art but other things in life!
It's fair to say that you're a jack of all trades, right? Is there anything you can't do?
There are tons of things I can't do, and so much I have to learn! I figure out new things every day, and I know there's are so many things that I've yet to discover. And in concerns to the world outside of art - you should see me try to shoot a hoop or throw a football. It's hilarious.
Which, would you say, is your favorite medium of art?
I would say that my favorite is probably writing, though photography comes as a close second! Both are amazing ways to express emotion, which is very important to me.

Where do you find most of your inspiration for your writing? Do you pull from real life experiences or get inspired by others?
Oh geez. I'm inspired by everything. I mostly just have a whole lot of crazy in my brain. It's a busy, twisted place up there. But really, I'm inspired each and every day by so many things. Music, life, events, dreams... even riding on the train or walking down the street or (creepily) inspecting people in stores or restaurants can spark ideas.
Do you believe that you tend to stick to a certain type of writing, or do you like to try all different types?
I love experimenting. If you know what I mean. But no, haha, really. I like trying a little bit of everything, though I must say, I fail at haikus.
Have you ever had any formal training in writing? Do you want more?
I haven't had any training in writing at all, besides your everyday English class. But we don't write anything other than essays, so I guess that doesn't really apply much to the things I post on dA. I'd love to learn from a seasoned writer who can give me good advice on how to improve.

Do you think that, being one of the most popular/well-respected artists in the community, you've started any trends? (And we're not talking copycats!)
Well, first of all, I'm honored to be considered one of the most popular/well-respected artists on dA! There are so many people more worthy. But besides that, I don't really know. I hope that I've inspired people to try new things and really push their own boundaries. I would love to be able to spread my ideas of being more open-minded to everything, in both the art world and not! There's a trend I'd love to start - open-mindedness.
When you're not drawing, taking pictures, or writing, what do you like to do in your spare time?
Well... basically I go to a ton of concerts and go out and have CRAZY TIMES with my friends. We are completely insane 24/7. We talk to strangers, go on playgrounds at ten p.m., and take entertaining midnight strolls through graveyards. I just love to be spontaneous and have fun!
Do you have anything to say to all your watchers and the dA community in general?
I LOOOVEEEEE YOOOOU GUYS. Haha. For serious. As I said before, I wouldn't be half the artist I am today without deviantArt. You all inspire me and help me so much.
“allison”
We had Bailey ask her watchers for questions for the interview. Here are some of our favorites:
Who is your idol/the person you look up to? (Tasha25)
My mom, because she deals with so much in our lives and is still an incredible woman. She has so much patience and is the best, most supportive mom anyone could ever hope for.
If you had one day to spend with any musician/actor/artist/writer who would it be and what would you talk about? (blood-rainbow-x )
I would most definitely without a doubt spend the day with Jensen Ackles! He is an absolutely brilliant actor, not to mention easy on the eyes. Hee. I think we'd probably talk about how amazing he is? Haha, I don't actually know. I'd probably be too starstruck to talk. How pathetic is that. Maybe we'd talk about... uhhhh. How awesome Supernatural is?! XD
When did you first start to take photography seriously? And, were you a writer first, or the other way around? (kyokyolu )
I began taking photography seriously in the few months after I got my camera (which was December 2007). And yeah, I was definitely a writer first! I've been writing since fourth grade, but back then it was ridiculous stories about girls and their best-guy-friend-crushes and their lovely horses and stables and trail-riding. Yeah. Horses. I was obsessed with horses.
Personality-wise, what do you like the best about yourself? what do you like the least? is it the same when it comes to the personalities of others? (RiparianVeins )
The thing about myself that I probably like the best personality-wise is that I am generally easy to talk to and really open to anything. I'm also really not judgmental of others. My least favorite personality trait has got to be my ability to procrastinate. I am THE best procrastinator in the world, and I'm always putting things off till the last second. I wish I was someone who could get things done right away. As for the personalities of others - I like all kinds of personalities! Traits in others that I look for most are honesty, loyalty, and humor, and I try to avoid people who are really self-centered, shallow, and get caught up in stupid drama.
Any final thoughts, words of advice for writers, or anything you want to end this with?
Just don't be afraid to experiment and try new things! Step out of your comfort zone and just go totally crazy. Write on impulse. Try just typing and see what happens. Sometimes the best things can come from no planning at all. Just put your heart into it and it's sure to turn out great. (:

Chirp, it's been twittered.
Any chance you'd be interviewing purely literature devs in the near future?
