Just a simple design I sketched on a word card. I'm excited for Heroes 6 coming out, so I visited the forums, and there was a few topics on reworking old factions into expasion packs. One of these was the elves, and people were discussing varients for the 7th tiered creature, as it usually is a dragon, which are going to be replaced. Someone suggested a treant that was more powerful, but I felt that perhaps a living vine might work. Perhaps with the ability to eat dead corpses to give buffs to allies, or to spread thorns around the battlefield.
