I doth smell Greg Martin starfield tutorial here. I could be wrong though haha.
I agree with that one chick, couple more layers couldn't hurt. If you don't want to make more layers, just don't erase so much of the stars for the black out parts.

hahahah....i have no idea what u r talking about....
no it def was off the tutorial and henc why it lacks some originallity....and depth
but it was only really something to do to follow the tutorial...but yeah i think ill gradually learn more about what looks better as i go along and get such comments from ppl

Interesting. Low-orbit shots always interest me.

interesting in a good way i hope??? i found getting the angle and look of the planet was the main thing that took me a while- probably because i had already made the planet and i had to transform and rotate it to get the right look

I like the overall image. I think the starfield could benefit from several more layers and the planet surface might have some more detail since we're in relatively close. Second try? Very nice.

yeah...once again thanks for your comment
im hearing you about the detail of the planet
and yeah i see what u mean about the stars - especially when comparing it to half the other space artists out there...
ill have to work harder on the next one...thanks

Planets ca be fun since you can produce them so quickly ( about 10-15 mins these days) but it takes a while to get a feel for what works and what doesn't... it is a subtle excercise in PS that leads to other things. After about the 100th planet things begin to really click. Rock on!

yeah i know what u mean...its like that with a lot of things like this (well for me anyway)...
btw i just submitted another piece with some space/planets in it....have a look and tell me what u think...ur comments/criticisms are always welcome

Practice make perfect... or so they say. But most of us learn through experience (i.e. repitition), me included. I checked out your latest submission and dropped a comment, but if you'd like me to give it genuine ripping I can send you a note off the public forum. Of course, if you want me to do this, I expect you to pick one or two things from my gallery and dissect 'em.

Cheers!
