THE TIMELAPSE VIDEO: [link]A speedpainting of The Nostalgia Critic (thatguywiththeglasses.com) done in Photoshop CS5 with my trusty old and battered Graphire 4.
The full tutorial for this picture is featured in my DVD, Photorealism Vol 2. It shows how to speedpaint without needing an accurate sketch, and how to apply different colour and lighting themes to your final image. The DVD is beginner friendly and features full commentary and realtime footage.

What an excellent caricature! Β The only weird thing I spot at a quick glance is the cheek on the right (his left), which seems odd. Β Also the teeth are perhaps too regular?
I've never seen a photo-like caricature of the NC before, and... wow. Β You just nailed him. Β I especially like the expression, because it would look weird for him to have a regular smile (poor guy).

not to be stupid but i must say, this creeps me out a little. that doesn't mean i dont like it. really cool. my fav part are his cheeks and his beard, they look so realistic yet comicbookie ( if that makes sense).

haha, I know what you mean. Originally I just set out to do a straight portrait, but decided to exaggerate his expression a touch and give it a slight cartoony/caricature style. Glad you like it though.
