Description
Two youths strode a rocky shoreThrough mist, through fire, through ice
Walking hand in hand
Then all the gods of all the worlds
Rose up from beneath the waves
And danced before their very eyes
The youths just laughed and sang along
With charming smiles and pretty lies
Then walked away, hand in hand
No gods to guide them
From the rocks rose their brethren
Flitting all around the two
Their bodies made of dreams and songs
The solemn youths wept bitter tears
And smiled full of anguish
Then walked away, hand in hand
No kin to hide them
The young man bent down to the shore
And, picking up a stone, he said
“This is the blackness in my heart”
He placed the pebble in her hand
And with a smile, she kissed the stains away
“Not so black after all”
She whispered, and held him as he cried
Two youths strode a rocky shore
Through mist, through fire, through ice
No gods to guide them, no kin to hide them
Walking hand in hand
