I coloured the line art and added the lazy background. I don't feel this is my best work so critique on the colouring and background is preferred.

I think that background, while simple, is good. It draws attention to the character, and doesn't look overly busy. Which is what you want, really.

Ha ha, laziest background ever! It's one of the PhotoShop preset gradients. I thought it looked a bit like a stage so I put the shadow down and when I looked at the time I decided to stop fiddling.
Thanks for the comment.

"critique on the colouring and background is welcome."....
The highlights are good on the skin. Would have been nice to see highlights in the hair. (Maybe I just cant see them?) You need more/darker low lights. (Unless you where trying to emphasize a bright light, so if you can see a shadow you should be able to see better low lights.) I like how well the shadows are done, the way the exclusion of light curves around the radius of her tail. Very well done devvyn. ^_^

Thanks for the detailed comment. I can definitely agree about the hair. There are highlighted strands in there but it's not consistent with the style used on the rest. And you made a very good point about the shadows. I hadn't thought of needing the shadows to match intensity but they really should. I guess it helps that you spend time rendering 3D models because you get to experiment with lighting in a more obvious way. Thanks!

Glad you like it! Thanks for the comment.
I was curious if you'd be willing to offer critique? I was experimenting quite a bit and I'd love any input you might have to offer.
(Go nuts, I can take it. I think about feedback the same way you do.)

Thanks!
Do you have any suggestions or critique? Anything you'd do differently? (I was experimenting a bit with this one.)
