I hadn't actually decided, but on reflection Wood Elves would seem to suit "beanpole" best (tall, thin AND leafy).
One can see why you liked drawing this particular portrait so much - it has that delightful confluence of Tolkien, Warhammer Fantasy & Asterix the Gaul!

To be honest I just really like drawing dwarfs, and eventually want to do all of the dwarf characters from the original WH fantasy.

Then it must be all those beards and the strong Norse overtones that helps draw you to the Sons of Grungi! (they do seem to fall rather neatly into the sweet spot between a number of your particular favourite things, so far as I can see).
I do look forward to seeing future Dwarf-related artwork from you, as you seem to have a fine knack for the subject.

Think you'll ever draw any Chaos Dwarfs?
I actually didn't know about them before playing Call of Warhammer Beginning of the End Times mod for Medieval 2, they're a really fun faction to play as. While a bit silly I think the best depictions of them keep that Mesopotamian influence and remember, Praise the Bull-Father!

I don't think they're that silly, they're really cool. They forge weapons armour and artillery literally out of demons.

They were a little silly for me because the old look they had in the 80's well, it didn't quite age well.

However with that said I still prefer the old style, I've seen artists draw the Chaos Dwarfs and completely drop the fantastical Mesopotamian look about them.
Example being a quick google image search, this doesn't scream Chaos Dwarfs to me.
