Description Three Abnormally sized White "Dwarf" stars orbit around each other at the center of the Tri-Sector region. These stars are named after the form of radiation that they emit; The largest star, Gamma, orbits furthest from the heart of the system, and is shown in the foreground; The slightly smaller star, Beta, is shown at the top right; And the smallest of the three, Alpha, orbits closest to the center of the sector.

Although the three orbit each other, this orbital path is continuously changing. The long extinct civilization, commonly reffered to as the Valkyrie, who once existed in the Tri-Sector region set up multiple satellites to monitor the paths of the stars many millennia ago: recently discovered records show that they have never repeated the same orbital path. However, they do follow a common pattern; Alpha close to the center, while Beta and Gamma orbit around it and each other.

The most noticeable thing in the sector is the massive nebula-esque object at the heart of the orbital paths. This is an unknown and widely speculated anomaly, never seen elsewhere in the known universe. The most commonly accepted theory is the Asgard Theory, which states that, because of the stars unusual aspect of only exerting one type of radiation, and the incredible size of each of them, meaning they also cause a large magnetic field, these two factors, in combination with the permanent state of orbit, cause a large, swirling, magnetic, radioactive "storm", of sorts. This explanation can never be entirely proved, because any ship, probe or satellite close enough to collect reliable readings is pulled in and deactivated by the magnetic fields. However, readings taken by the Valkyrie add evidence to the Asgard Theory.

The reason that this sector is so scientifically astounding, is that the mass of these stars, so immense from the fact that they are white "dwarfs", mean that they should just collapse into a black hole on their own, never mind three of them at such a close proximity. An explanation to this, and to the fact that they do not fall in to the central storm, can be found in the Asgard theory. The theory suggests that the magnetic fields between the stars and to the storm are "locked". This means that the stars are eternally in orbit, with gravity pulling them together, but the magnetic field pushing them apart.

The sector is named Sigma because, in mathematics, Sigma can mean a sum of numbers. This sector is also referred to as the White Sector, The Triple Pulsar, The Celtic Knot (after one orbit which formed a Celtic looking "knot" and formed the symbol for a Scottish-based settlement [link] ) or, most commonly, Asgard, in keeping with a Norse theme seen through out the Tri-sector Region
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my first fully explained deviation (i know, it's a very long explanation), and the second from the Tri-Sector idea (i've done the green sector [link] ) , and i'll soon upload a map to the sector once i regain access to my editing computer.

To breifly explain the terms used, Asgard is the Norse "heaven" , and the Valkyrie are the women who went to Asgard (the Valkyrie civilization will be explained later).
Any criticism, questions or general points are very much welcome.

P.S. this explanation took longer to write than the image took to create. well, maybe that's a slight exaggeration...
