This episode picks up with our heroes already through the portal, and Kai left behind,being ushered to the transports back to Earth.I wonder where the transport ships came from,were they made for PR,or recycled from somewhere else?
Kai returns to Earth,feeling guilty about leaving the others behind. While leaving the transport,he sees a pamphlet advertising the Astro Megaship Museum! I wonder just how much Power Rangers info was made public knowledge.
He rushes in,and announces that the ship is being recommisioned.
We hear D.E.C.A 's voice leading tourists,and Alpha 6 waving to them.
Kai meets Damon,the mechanic and caretaker of the Megaship. Its apparently fallen into disrepair. Interestingly, Kai knows who D.E.C.A and Alpha are. That makes me wonder how long exactly into the future this is supposed to be.
Meanwhile on Mirinoi, Leo,Kendrix and Mike encounter the Stingwingers. Kai and Damon join the others just in time to fight Furio.
Mike pulls one of the swords from the stone, and the others follow. Leo looks over to his brother,and a proud smile spreads across his face. This happy moment is shortlived,as Furio proceeds to turn the ground and everyone touching it to stone. They run away,and Mike falls into a chasm. He gives the sword to Leo,before letting go and falling as the chasm begins to close. Leo confronts Furio,and the swords begin to glow,with a strike of magic lightning, the five are transformed into the Galaxy Rangers.
They manage to fight off the villains, and escspe the planet just as the last of it turns to stone. The Megaship docks on Terra Venture,which has started its mission to find a new world.
Furio has also left Mirinoi,and is speaking with an imposing looking creature, Scorpius.
The main Rangers are now introduced,and surprisingly, Mike has apparently been killed off! This was an impressive premiere for the new season.
A few odd things,in some promotion and merchandise for this season, the rangers are referred to as "teenagers". I guess it was difficult to break completely from the MMPR mold. Another thing of intrest,when this aired on Vortexx,they loved using a specific scene from this episode in the commercial bumpers, the scene when Kai and Damon start the Megaship. Damon tells D.E.C.A to "kick the birds out of the exhaust ports".
