Much thanks! Your comment makes this piece my most commented on. Actually not surprised this one would get that distinction!

My dad watched He-Man when he was a kid and he used to laugh when he'd say that Skeletor wanted He-Man's sword. As a kid I didn't get him.Β

Oh how innocence ends it's glorious.Β

And I just love how chill He-man is about the whole deal. Dick like a subway club wrap, you can see the veins through his loin cloth. And he's just telling Skeletor to fuck off.Β

It's the perfect mix of sexy and funny. Like a good playboy illustration.Β

Everything came together for this one. I felt like I was on dangerous ground here but it was fun.

Well I often find that stuff I think is crazy funny, offends others. But in the case of this piece, except for one humorless reaction everyone else seems to find it pretty funny.

Wow. The combo of one of my fave cartoons characters (which goes without saying, a massive man in small loin cloth) with your enhancements is amazing!

Can't blame Skeletor. I want to have a sword like He-Mans as well

Wow, fascinating! I read the first three chapters. It is a huge ambitious work but fun as well. It's interesting to see these characters get such a serious treatment. The author is definitely teasing out some interesting ideas about wielding power.

I'm so very glad that you're enjoying it. I think it's great, never read a more involving Masters tale, or a better written one either. I hope you'll read on too, because the real fun begins in Part 4 where Lyn interrogates the hunky hero - and she isn't at all shy about her methods, which contrasts brilliantly with his own outraged modesty at being humilated and handled that way...... Β

But it's serious stuff too, just like you say. The focus on the demands and perils of power really makes you think and we get introduced to some well thought out and fitting concepts which add a huge amount to the basic narrative outline of Masters that we all remember so well.Β  It's grown up at last!

Highly recommended!

So you're reading THF?Β  Good for you - you really must stick with it - it's just the BEST MOTU tale I've ever come across.Β  And you're right too; it's both fun and deadly serious - the characterization is superb and the whole concept has real depth to it too. The investigation into why power is a problem is fascinating and why being a hero isn't all a bed of roses.Β  I never thought of it that way before. It's a long way from children's cartoon land. Β  And the lengthy interaction between Evil-Lyn and the hero is intense and brilliant (and pretty damn hot too..!)Β  Of course the writer knows his stuff - he's been published, I'm told. And he's a very nice guy and approachable too - he's got quite a following of MOTU fans and there's a great interchange of ideas around his ongoing story.Β Β Β  I'm 100% sure you'll enjoy reading the rest of it. I can't wait for the next chapter!

Yes the fullness of his vision of Eternia shows an enormous affection and knowledge of the source material. Add to that a professional level of skill at writing and it's probably the best and most thoughtful He-Man story I've experienced. Also Teels manages to bug in whatever version she shows up in. Thanks!

Very glad to hear that you are enjoying it. The plot gets even deeper as it goes along, too, touching on some really intriguing ideas, while the characterization is flawless. There's a sense of urgency and tension to it and a balanced realism too which has more in common with high fantasy than cartoons.Β Β  And you're right; the author has plainly given this a great deal of thought - as well as knowing his source material.

And - yes - Teela is, as ever, annoying..... !

Thanks Luke! Β I should have figured you were a Masters of the Universe fan! Β I'm very pleased to hear you liked this piece.

Like you, I feel a little sorry for Skeletor and I feel like He-Man would have been kinder if Skeletor hadn't kept trying to rule the universe and all because of his insecurity. Β However some guys can't control those primitive urges. Β If Skeletor could have had a healthier relationship, maybe with Beastman, then Eternia would have been more peaceful.

Meanwhile He-Man needs to work through his own situation with Man-At-Arms! Β
