Description
Great seventies era bodybuilder. While he won many national level titles in the seventies, Richard never quite broke through the way Frank Zane, who had a similar build (and who I morphed as well), did on a professional level. As a fan at the time, I actually preferred Richard's physique. He had better arms and a beefier look to him and still had those classic lines. He's one of those guys, like so many including Frank Zane, that belie the musclehead myth. He went on to get his doctorate and become a professor AND he's still really muscular (his arms remain magnificent) and an inspiration to all. There is a nice compilation of photo and even some posing and workout videos of Richard here.
To check out what he's doing currently, he maintains a great Youtube Channel .

In times of social quarantine we depend on beauty more than ever. Whether it's men doing videos about swords or artists making art, they bring me comfort and solace.
And I think this may be one of the most hauntingly beautiful pictures you've ever done. There's something about the good photo shop effort combined with the black and white and the shine of his muscles; it's kind of like a Frank Miller illustration when he's at the top of his game.
It's really haunting and striking. I feel the love you have for this. For the magic of the male body and the miracle that is body building. I adore the idea that we can sculpt and forge the meat suits god gave us. It's really uplifting.

Richard was always a favorite, a true beauty of a man. To emulate, or mate with, would have been heaven....
I've been in the gym with Zane, in the 70's, but when he walked across the area, and his leg muscles were wobbling back and forth,
I didn't think of him as very solid. Not a bad guy, but no interaction really. Arnold and Columbu were good guys, could be quite funny.
Callard was a prick.
Your FB link for Baldwin doesn't work.
