Description Kolbe was raised by wolves when his mother died. Because of his traumatic childhood he forgot he was human and came down with lycanthropia believing he was a wolf and the dam wolf was his real mother.
When he got contact to humans he realized he wasn't a wolf and started to remembered some parts of his past. He had to learn to speak and walk again. He lived double life, in humans eyes he was a simple crossbreeding and in his freetime he lived with his new family. In Kolbe's eyes humans were cruel race who killed his mother and tried to kill his family. He got his revenge on them who abused him and his mother and avenged those who harmed his new family.

I really like the way these trees make a frame and the wolf paw in white! Also, great details with the teeth and the expression!

How did he gain new contaxt with humans? And what happened to the wolves then?

Thanks.

One day he wandered and something told him that the place was familiar to him. Following the feeling he has been there before his foot took him to his mother's grave, and he got flashbacks about the night he buried his mother and young Gerhard died to snow. He had also a quick encounter with someone he knew. While he was back at his pack he started to remember little by little that he was human, humans walked with two feet and talked.

Wow, what a poetic way to remember the past, I like it, thanks for telling me the story.

By the way, I don't remember about Gerhard; who was him?

Thanks.

It's Kolbe's first name. He doesn't want to remember it or that anyone uses it because everyone who ever called him with his forname died to his hands.

That's very sad... his name seems to be cursed. Then, does he want to be called just "Kolbe"?

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-12 12:17:08 +0000 UTC]

In fact he doesn't want humans to talk to him. He hates his names because Kolbe was his father's surname, and he hated his father more than anything else.

I remember that... Kolbe's father was heartless.

Indeed, and because of his rejection Kolbe slaughtered his whole family from father's side.

He can't do it either, he tried it many times but always his other part either made him stop or made sure he didn't die.

He has so many different parts, it is incredible how they keep him prisoner, control him, yet, don't allow him to die: it sure takes a tragical life to develope such personalities.

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-15 11:16:04 +0000 UTC]

It takes indeed, one of them is the hurted part, the one who bears all the sadness and pain and that's why is humane. Then there is his wild side, the one who acts like a bloodthirsty wildanimal destroying everything. It could say that his humane feelings, sadness, happiness, love and trust, have taken an own prts, and Kolbe's grudge, hatred and anger keeps them chained in his mind's deepest part.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-02-18 22:26:52 +0000 UTC]

How does his human side behave? Was it the one that saved Helga and little Fritz?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-19 15:42:11 +0000 UTC]

Yep, it can say that his human side is the young Gerhard who died in snow with his mother, he's calm and maybe a bit timid. Kolbe normally puts others needs first, saves them and do other dangerous things because he subconsciously wants to die, he doesn't realise that. His human side has known it all the time and even asked Friedrich to kill him.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-02-20 19:06:01 +0000 UTC]

So, the human side he asked his doctor friend to kill him? How did he react?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-21 13:42:00 +0000 UTC]

Yep, and Friedrich refused to do it even though the human side warned that the animal side may kill and eat him. Friedrich took the risk and did everything to tame the animal side.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-02-21 14:17:55 +0000 UTC]

Friedrich must have been a very loyal friend, as well as a strong man: most people would fear Kolbe, but he doesn't seem to.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-21 14:22:39 +0000 UTC]

Indeed. He was a doctor in WW1 where he met Kolbe first time and was amazed of his life spirit and got interested about the betrayed general. Friedrich also feels sorry for Kolbe's hard life and wanted to make it better. In his eyes Kolbe was a man, not a monster nor a crossbreeding. And Kolbe was like a loyal dog to him, always protecting his master.

I remember you once mentioned Friedrich wanted to find a wife for Kolbe, that sounds very romantic!

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-22 11:37:48 +0000 UTC]

He tried. Too bad Kolbe is colourblind and in his eyes blonde ladies looked all the same and so did the brown haired ladies too. A red head caught his attention but too bad she scolded gypsies.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-02-22 22:48:49 +0000 UTC]

Really? I didn't know he was colorblind, was he born that way or was it a consequence of something else?

Too bad Friedrich couldn't find a nicer red haired girl; I'm afraid to know what happened to the first one...

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-02-23 09:07:13 +0000 UTC]

It's because he has a disorder what for his skin is really sensitive to sunlight, and after being adopted by a wolf he lived in shadowy forest. His eyes got adjusted to darkness while bright and light colours, except shades of green, brown, grey and red, hurts to his eyes.

Too bad indeed. It isn't so hard to guess that he killed her.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-02-23 21:41:29 +0000 UTC]

That's some interesting thing you came up with: I had no idea such disorders exist, but it's fascinating.

I suspected that... I can only imagine Friedrich's face when he found that out!

It's called porphyria, and I got to know about it when I read about werewoves. There were reading that porphyria could have been one thing what made people believe in werewolves.

Haha, he yelled to Kolbe what the F*ck he was doing and Kolbe were like a dog getting scolds.

Someday, I must tell you a very interesting thing about Wikipedia!

That is some very unusual relationship, too bad Friedrich died, I am sure he could have helped Kolbe to solve that.

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-03-02 21:06:53 +0000 UTC]

What is it?

Their relationship is kinda complicated, but they could get along. In fact, Friedrich solved how to cure Kolbe's madness and was close to destroy Kolbe's evil side.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-03-02 22:28:09 +0000 UTC]

A note will explain you why I feel so happy at the moment!

Really? That is impressive, it means that Friedrich truly was a great human being! At the same time, this is sad: if only people had accepted Kolbe, he might have had a normal life... but they turned their back to him and his hate grew more than ever.

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-03-03 09:24:54 +0000 UTC]

Okay.

Yes, he figured out that Kolbe needed what he got only for a little time in his life. Oh but those people paid for it with their lives. When they faced Kolbe, they all were consumed by his fury.

DieWalkyrie In reply to SummaVeritas [2013-03-06 09:51:43 +0000 UTC]

People were jealous and pissed off because they thought Kolbe favoured him. A guy who had a great dislike toward Kolbe paid them to make a deal with Friedrich; either he leaves the SS, gives Kolbe poison or he'll die. Friedrich was shot several times and his corpse were thrown to a river. Before Friedrich died he tried to tell that if he dies, they will release something uncontrollable. And that's what they did. Kolbe's fury destroyed them.

I need that, especially with my condition.

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-03-09 23:23:31 +0000 UTC]

I agree... actually, a friend of mine, that loves American comics, told me some authors put photos as heir backgrounds either by printing them low quality or tracing them.

It might be a good idea for things we can take picture of ourselves, or on material with no longer copyrights...

SummaVeritas In reply to DieWalkyrie [2013-03-09 23:44:21 +0000 UTC]

Then, the only solutions are either simple backgrounds (black white or other colors) or using a lot of imagination to make them the way you need them (using references, because the Internet allows us to find several pictures of all different things)
