After reading Calpain's excellent and heartfelt Appeal to the Fandom [link] , I almost decided not to post this. But it's not meant to be negative towards Equestria Girls, and surely people can understand something as a joke.Having seen the Equestria Girls trailer, I'm rather looking forward to it. The human animation is on par with Littlest Pet Shop if not better, the music was catchy, and the humour and cast are there. Spike is still a dog, but even that I can't judge until I actually see it. It looks like it'll be a fun way to spend two hours when the time comes. If it's great that's awesome, and if it's mediocre oh well, I wasn't planning to buy EQG toys anyway. Mind you, I never planned to buy pony toys either and now I have a box full of them.
Looking at it now, I guess this comic could work as an exploitable template. Just replace the guy's lines and panel three with something ridiculous.

As much as I like the new Princess Twilight, I have to wonder why writers made her a princess in the first place; was it because they thought it would be a good development for the series, or just because Hasbro wanted another toy to sell? If the former, why were they so quick to make her a princess and why didn't they give us any sort of hints or implications that they would do so, and if the latter, why didn't they just make her a princess in the comics alone, like they did with the whole "Nightmare Rarity" thing?

both.in an interview, Lauren Faust said she wanted Twilie to become the heir to CelestiaΒ΄s trone and you have to admit, it could be worse, I mean her reason of becoming an alicorn could have been stupid like when, in A Canterlot Wedding when her brother came out of nowhere and for HasbroΒ΄s sake. instead, the episode made a lot of people proud of Twilight, making it more realistic

From what I understand, Lauren Faust's original plan for Twilight was for her to become an alicorn eventually, but the reason it happened so soon in the series was because, as you guessed, Hasbro wanted more toys to sell. The lack of hints or implications was because...IDK really, I guess they didn't have time what with Season 3 only having 13 episodes, and I suppose they didn't put alicorn twilight in just the comics because Hasbro told them to put her in there.
