Here is the final colored version of my Kamen Rider: Another Agito posterAnother holiday season, another poster request from my bro. Although not as complex as last year's Gilgamesh poster, the Kamen Rider show was not something I am very knowledgeable of so this was pretty difficult in it's own right. I started this picture going in pretty much blind to who or what I was illustrating, good thing I was able to find a ton of reference pictures from the TV show.
For those that don't know, Kamen Rider is/was a weekly live action TV program aired in Japan originating back to the 1970's, and has been on and off through the years. The show focused on genetically modified and or mechanized humans who became masked Super heroes to fight against evil organizations hellbent on taking over the world. Many of the Kamen Rider costume designs are inspired by different real world insects, as you can see in this piece Another Agito has a look similar to a grasshopper.
There have been dozen's of Kamen Rider spinoffs and different versions over the years, and I was specifically requested to draw the version you see here which is referred to as 'Another Agito'.

From what I remembered, the Classic Riders (Before the 90s) Are all cyborgs (sans KR Amazon, he was modified somehow by a shaman from what I read) and their belts are built into their mechanical bodies. Riderman [link] (The one in the left, next to KR V3) has to put on his helmet to transform. And almost of his entire right arm (Not the shoulder) is a mechanical arm which allows him to turn it into various weapons and tools. In the Kamen Rider Spirits manga, he gains a new type of arm; the Machine Gun Arm
[link] These three movie only Riders from the 90s (J, ZO, and Shin from left to right) are all biologically modified (ZO was made into a cyborg of sorts. Can't remember) And Shin has to actually mutate into his "Rider" form (Most fans don't view him as a Kamen Rider)
KR Kuuga, the first of the modern/2000s riders, got his belt because it attaches to him and buried deep into his waist. Agito's power were dormant and only a few select people have them, but for that they were killed by the monsters (Which the main hero of the series was one of them). Gills [link] Is a failed Agito (that's what I read, anyway 
Ever since Agito, ALL of the Riders transform by putting on their transformation devices. (Except Hibiki, he and the rest of the supporting Riders are Onis and they don't actually put them on, rather always wearing them. They're quite small)

Thanks for the info. One thing I could never figure out tho when I was working on this and maybe you know, is this guys name actually 'Another Agito'? Or does he have a real title and people just happened to call him 'Another Agito'?
I could never figure that out as I was reading up on the Agito stuff.

The real name for Another Agito is Kaoru Kino (Japanese name, so family name then first name. So ya won't be confused) Sometimes known as "Kino Agito" to differentiate from the main Agito in the show, I think. He's a homage to the classic Riders. With those scarfs, the grasshopper design and his bike looks like the one used by Kamen Rider Black. His Rider Kick, the Assault Kick, is as powerful as KR Agito's Ultimate Form, Shining Form (Heisei/Modern Riders ALWAYS have a final, more powerful form. If they had gained a new form before then it is a bridge connecting to a new, better form) And Another Agito has no other forms whatsoever. Badass. He was a doctor.
The enemy of the series, named "The Unknowns" only killed humans who have the potential to become an Agito. If they killed who is not a potential Agito they must killed themselves. (Evil has standards, apparently)
I would love to tell you more about the main character who is the title character, but it would be a spoiler (if you don't mind, I might tell...But the others will read this 
Oh, and I think the word "Kamen Rider" is never mentioned in the modern era Riders (In KR Kabuto, it was called "Masked Rider System" for each Riders and their respective transformation devices) The word "Kamen Rider", however, was mentioned in the previous rider, Kamen Rider W (it is read as Double.Japanese has "unique" ways to make things shorter. For a recent example, the new Rider is called OOO, as in, "Owes", seriously. He does give off a sense of bad-ass in the show from what little I have been able to collect on youtube. It's almost like Another Agito is the equivalent of Batman of the Kamen Rider universe, very dark and a loner style.

Did ya know his right arm is of his dead brother? I think his behavior is because he's haunted by his death. And thanks to the power he has, he became delusional
