gah, I hate to be a nit-prick, but I believe those are Canadian Geese, not Mallard Ducks >.<

I think you might be right. I'm not very good at telling one foul from another. I'll attempt to change the description.

the geese are pretty easy to tell, they've got the gray body, with the long black neck and the white thingy on their cheeks. The mallard ducks are shorter, and either flecked brown with coloured flight feathers (female) or metallic green with often a white ring around their neck, and multicoloured wings and body of green-blue-brown-white and stuff. Both are quite common around where I live XD and they both produce one hell of a mess!
