My other stamps have been very popular, especially my self injury and eating disorder ones. I thought people might like this one too, and I'll take requests for other mental illness stamps people want made.I have Borderline Personality Disorder. It makes my life, my parents lives, my boyfriends life... it makes it hard. Very hard.
I want others to know about BPD, what it is, and what it means.
If you have BPD, or know someone who has, and want to spread the awareness, please post his on your journal.

EUPD is considered a less offensive term than BPD.

oldish comment i know, and im not trying to start fights
but i have been professionally diagnosed with BPD by more than one doctor
and BPD is actually not in the slightest offensive lol
feeling the need to change a widely accepted medical term to be politically correct is quite ridiculous, in my honest opinion.

I don't have BPD (thank goodness), but I'll use this. There's this band that helped me get through a lot of rough times in my life and, well, its lead singer has the disorder. I figured that since his lyrics and music helped me, I'll do my part and raise awareness. A lot of fans wanted to send him emails and such, but I fear that all the fan support might be the trigger that sets him on edge (he did say in his song where he talks about BPD that he just wants to be forgotten), so I think that this is the least I can do.

I have been hospitalized twice due to my diagnosis of BPD. I've had symptoms since I was 13 years old and have just gotten an official diagnosis at 20.
I wish BPD didn't have such a bad rep either. It's a shame.

I have BPD and I've been to hospital several times. It's hard to stay strong and tell yourself every day that it'll get better...
There is always a new challenge. Like next January, when I have to do work experience in the psychiatric hospital. My school just gave us the places by chance, so we couldn't decide where we want to work.
But it gets even more ironic. I will work at the BPD ward - for one month! I don't know how to handle this... But since I'm under 18 I can't get the 'official' diagnose for BPD. The (German) health system says that it is not possible to get a problem with your personality when you're under 18, 'cause your personality is still developing (means: It's a big mess either way 
So I can't go to my school and give them an official certificate from my therapist that I can't work there. Inofficial it's BPD, official (for the health insurance) it's just family problems... *sigh*
So, what I want to say with this: There'll always be a new challenge and it is nice to know, that I'm not alone.

I agree there's too little awareness about it or any other mental illness for that matter. Would be great to form a forum or something where people with the same illnesses could come together and talk about their experiences and maybe help each other out a bit through what we've been through and learned.

What about stamps for OCD, depression, panic attacks, and so on. OCD can have many layers and effect people in many ways.
We have to support the mentally ill we deserve to have a good life too.

I have Borderline Personality Disorder and I really do think more awareness needs to be made. A lot of people assume I'm going to kill them in the night or something. I wish they would just read up on it, or at least ask me what it is. =/

I'm borderline, diagnosed in 2003- but aside from some trouble with relationships and school, I've been fine. I tend to just see everyone as either my best friend or my worst enemy, so it makes trouble when things get slow in a relationship.

I love this stamp. More people should know what BPD is. I suffer from it everyday and because of lack of knowledge most of my friends get upset with me as well as my own mother.

I have never been diagnosed this in particular, but my husband does believe I have this-for real...I'm not joking. There are too many in my family who are OCD or Bi-Polar, or something else, so we know about disorders! I have
