Emotional/psychological abuse doesn't get a lot of attention. It's almost like it doesn't exist, maybe because it doesn't leave physical signs. It's usually fairly easy to identify physical abuse but emotional abuse is seen. Plus, there's this whole, "sticks and stones will break your bones" mentality so people think that if words hurt than you're a wimp rather than the fact those words really DO hurt. I've been teased and yelled at all through Middle school by my peers and teachers, even years later it still affects me, it bruises and breaks the soul in as slowly and painfully as possible. Everyone says things they don't mean but to repeatedly insult and tear someone down with your words or the way you treat them is just plain malicious .

Know what I hate? The people that don't believe in emotional abuse... I've been physical abused almost all my life, but the words hurt the worst.
