Description
A picture of the official Fix-it Felix Jr. arcade unit, a real working model of the game Fix-it Felix Jr., the game the character Wreck-It Ralph, hero from the upcoming Disney movie Wreck-It Ralph comes from. It was at the Toronto Fan Expo 2012 to promote the upcoming movie. The game is dated 1982, and the unit looks like it is actually 30 years old. It's an actual playable game that looks quite authentic. There is apparently only one touring version of this game, it looks quite awesome. My friend played this and got the days high score on his first attempt at the game before it was beaten once that day.Look on the official Disney website for an online version of this game.

Well, if it's a question, then yes, this is a real game you can play. I'm not sure if it's still up, but there were links to play a computer game, just look for links in the comment section of this picture. IF you can't find them, I'll show them to you.

Damn that game looks easy the first few levels, but it really steps up the difficulty as it progresses. If Fix-it Felix had acctually exsisted in the eighties, it certainly should be a classic today.

Yeah, it does get intense, especially when the flying birds get added in. At least we know Wreck-It Ralph isn't going to be upset about always loosing, as he always wins in the end. Which of course adds depth to his character, as he always wins in the long run, but still he hates his role.
Yeah, it is a very well thought out game, and would probably be up there with Donkey Kong and Pac Man if it was real.

I don't know, I didn't play it myself, only watched it, but my friend played it, and he seemed to like it, and it was fun to watch.

Is that the line of converted cabinets, or is that the number? Because the attendant told me it was the only one, and it tours. 101 seems like a lot.
But yes, if the cabinet is converted, I can see why the style is similar.

Hmm, okay fair enough. Maybe more were made after the first one, or maybe the one that tours is the only one that tours, maybe the other ones only go to relevant locations (Headquarters, animation studios, Disney World, etc.), though that seems like a lot, it would be cool if major theatres in major cities could get one for their lobbies to help promote the movie.

Well that's pretty cool then. Very lucky that they actually had those things for sale, must be quite the collector's item then.

Hmm, the complicated backgrounds make it look more like a mid-80's title, but that's me being nitpicky. The cabinet art is pretty appropriate, though.

Hmm, you're probably right, a few years more advanced based on that aspect, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man didn't have detailed backgrounds like that. Yeah, I thought that part looked authentic, it even looks like it has years of wear and tear on it.
