Hatched by the unicorn ascended alicorn Twilight Sparkle, Spike was the ever loyal friend and apprentice of the purple pony every since he was able to walk and talk.

-Spike has seen Twilight as a surrogate mother since he opened his eyes and first laid them on her. Some dragons - especially the kind that Spike is - bonds with whatever breathing, living thing that they see. This leaves them in a very vulnerable place and their lives depends on whether or not the ones they vibe with is a creature that will do them harm or not. This is why the mothers of these offspring are one of the most furious mothers around and the only way to obtain their eggs is from a dead one...since she will hunt you to the end of the earth to get it back. The fathers are just as aggressive but sometimes they cross the female and end up at the end of her teeth or claws, many of these dragons left fatherless.

-Since he was raised by ponies, his diet mostly consisted of pony food like hay, veggies, fish and some meat. He is small for his species due to this but he is a still very healthy male. He is a more tanky dragon as a late teen he would clear out the castle's storage like a group of piranhas with a chicken drumstick. He has a huge growth spurt and needed to eat a lot to sustain it. Spike would leave in the middle of the night with hunger pains to find larger sources of food (he was a terror for woodland creatures for awhile until his puberty stopped). As an adult he doesn't need to eat as much everyday and feeds more like a snake and has one big meal once every three days.

-As Spike grew, he developed wings which came a bit later than usual because of his stunted growth. He was ecstatic and wanted nothing more than to learn to fly. He begged Twilight for lessons but she sheepishly redirected him to Rainbowdash to teach him the more aerodynamic moves while Twilight taught him the basics (flapping and not...falling flat on his face). Spike also started to grow hard scales around his legs and his belly scales hardened.

-Growing up Spike was surrounded by a lot of wonderful role models and friends but he always felt...lonely, somehow. The girls made sure to include him in some adventures but he would sometimes ask himself if he was a part of the team. The need to be around others like him was ever present, especially after he became a teen. Being a real dragon was something he dreamed of often. He eventually went to the dragon lands, met Ember and realized that he didn't need to be like other dragons to be himself. He was a dragon no matter what and he mattered just as much as the girls.

-Thorax and Spike grew very close in the later years, and became an item. They have a daughter named Bash.

-In his early twenties Spike got a scar across the right side of his face from a dragon who made a move to take a slash at Twilight when she and Rarity were visiting Queen Ember for a diplomatic meeting.

-Spike no longer lives with Twilight but visits her as much as he can.

Spike! The good boy. Spike was just "okay" to me when I watched the show, but I'm glad he has wings now haha. Never was a huuuge fan of his colors even though it matched with the show. Spike as an adult is still a goofy nerd but he learned to take the reigns of leadership when things go sour with the Elements. He is a dad of a young daughter and is lovin' life so far.
