Description
For those of you who don't know, this is Netis, my pet iguana. This is the second collage that i make of Netis. The first one i made in March when i first got him/her (i still cant tell its gender, but everyday im leaning more towards female). This collage is much better from a photographic point of view, in my opinion.
The photoshoot ended up with over 50 pictures, but i picked my best 10, and then my favorite 6, which are these. If i had to pick a favorite, then it would be the first one or the last one. However, i like how they all turned out.
Sorry dial-up users! it's kind of a hefty file, but it's gonna be worth it once its open
I used my trusty little Canon A40 for these, in various settings. Lightning is natural. Its habitat has a 100 watt incandescent bulb for basking and a fluorescent tube for Ultraviolet light (which helps it synthetize vitamin D3, which helps it process Calcium, which is good for its bones, which are important at this stage, in which it grows at a rapid rate, which is fast enough that it is twice as big as when i got him/her back in March, which is the 3rd month of the year), and its also great for its photographic purposes
So, enjoy, suggest, ask, and............VOTE: Is netis a male or a female?

nice Iggy and damn nice setup too! If only I had the money/time/space/(insert other excuses here) I'd get myself one (tho I'm more keen on Fijians). Beautiful photography, my fave image is the top right one.

Dam, iguanas are illegal where I live. In fact, all reptiles are illegal here. Dam laws. I really want to have reptiles Your iguana looks very cute though. Hope you find out the gender some day. Not very easy seeing it when they are so young.

oh and i think that she's female, I have an iguana bible and you can know if it is male or female by checking the glands on the back part of its legs... of course, you need photos to comparate
Kissies!

Very nice shots. The lighting is really well done, especially in the last shot. It almost seems like the lil guy ( or gal) is posing for you. The habitat you've built looks great, and overall this really raises the bar for anyone submitting photos of their pets. As for the best of the lot, I'd have to go with either 2 or 6, probably leaning towards 2. I just think the way s/he's surrounded by shadows looks great.

For usage of the existing lightng rather than setting up specifically for the shot, you got some great shadows there. Intense colours stand out well, doing justice to the iguana. Great stuff

great shots, great lightning.
I even prefer Netis2 to Netis part one cause of the darker scenery in this one.
And of course:

You know what I thought about this shot already. Very professional looking. The clean-up work you did is very professional in style. As olya said, -very- National Geographicc.
Suggestion: I would've considered using a dark/mid-green for the photo borders to help keep the focus on Netis rather than on the patterns created by the frame lines.
Two big thumbs up.
