I thought I had already commented on this image, but it seems I was mistaken, Denis.
He holds his world tight
in his fantasy the throng
is speechless. He scores!

I would also say that you already wrote a comment.
But, this one, in a form of a poem, is very nice. There are a lot of deep meaning and beauty in these words.

Exactly. I do not know if the world is better or worse, but definitely different.
You are welcome Denis.

People usualy say that it changed for a worse. This could mean that it can't be true, or, the quite opposite, that truly it becomes worse constantly, from its (our) beginnings. Some say that it is not possible to conclude this based on the life-time experience. I say that, though, one decade is enough, if this period is crucially different. Even in my best years, during 1980s, I felt that something's changing, for a worse, and that this seed will germinate in a future. Today's world I see as a shiny package, without any content (even the stores changed: instead the ones where one can buy some real gear, there are many of them where one can enter and exit without knowing what to buy
). Manifestations of such condition I see even in the photography. Just as it lived its formative period (1950s-1970s), the photography has already stuck in its senile sentimentality.

Well, I agree. I have a lot of beautiful memories of my childhood and youth. Everything then seemed wonderful and interesting. Today is world very quick and superficial. But I grew up in socialism and I would not want to return it back.

I am trying to understand this, but off course, it is not possible to understand everything (all my knowledge about it comes only from a books of Milan Kundera).
We lived under very soft socialism (pressure has eased since the end of 1950s), and I've felt very good under it (only problem that we had was strengthening of Serbian nationalism, which finally ended with the war), because we had freedom (not absolute, off course, but not less than today), and we didn't have penury. On the contrary, now we suffer from all inconvenience of capitalism: injustice, exploitation of people, poverty, crime, aggression of all kinds, inhumane treatment of people with each other, lack of public peace and order, subordination of all to trade, aggressiveness of media, collapse of health and pension systems, privatization of everything, in fact, publicly... in fact, everything what people are fighting against today in the world.
I guess I'd be felt good without socialism only in some Scandinavian countries.

Thank you! Very often attractiveness of photos like this really depends on the spontaneity of the people who are in the photographs.
