Description
Another fashion illustration. This outfit was perfect for using a drybrush ink effect. Always a blast to draw.Related content

Yeah, I believe they call that "model face." Ha, a lot of them look like that to me at least.

Gorgeous! I just love the way you've drawn the lace detailing (That is lace at the top right?), heheh!

Thanks! Using ink like this is great fun, but unpredictable at the same time . . . . . . . that's why whiteout is my friend.

Oh, do you just go straight into it with ink, you don't pencil your line art out first? If so, man, that is very bold of you. Kudos!

I used to. I find it works better for me to pencil it first. Still, for this one, the only things penciled were the head and the outer contour of the shoulder and outfit. But when you flick the brush, the "flying white" effect is somewhat random. Truthfully, whiteout is only going to help with small mistakes here and there, not for big brush strokes.
Metal Gear artist Yoji Shinkawa uses similar brush techniques (with more skill than myself), but I read in an interview once that he might have to completely redraw the same drawing an upwards of 50 times to get it just right. He did say it usually doesn't take that many, though. I'm pretty sure he doesn't pencil in at all, which would attribute more to the randomness of each drawing.

Yeah, Yoji Shinkawa is unreal, I could never replicate his style even if I tried. I just love how the small details are implied rather than drawn due to how he depicts hues and solid color.

Oh wow, I love the expression and just design overall I admire people who can create good outfits because I have no sense of fashion whatsoever XDD
Really great job

Thank ya' kindly. Of course I can't take credit for designing the outfit, it is from the recent Rodarte Spring 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection. I just drew it in an awesome cartoony-mangaish style.
