Description It wasn't a moment later that Will pulled the cinch tight, that he lost it. Manny went flying, a whirlwind of hooves and hair. Will was well out of the way before he could get hurt, but Hannibal still frowned.
"Are you okay?" he asked with furrowed brows. Will nodded,
"Yea, I'm fine. Don't worry... He really doesn't like that I suppose." Hannibal smiled softly and nodded,
"Yes, I suppose you are correct. We are fortunate that we didn't put the new saddle on him. He may damage it." Will rolled not just his eyes, but his whole body.
"That isn't going to be put on any of my animals." The gaudy piece of leather and metal that sat in the tack room was just far too much for Wills simplistic taste.
"I spent a lot of money on it."
"Told you not to... Come on. Looks like there's a storm coming in. Help me get a hold of him."

It was perhaps a rough start to the dream Will Graham had wanted to start all his life. He wanted to run a successful stable, all his own. He knew if he tried hard enough though, he could do it. He had the skills, and Hannibal had the checkbook. It would just take time.
Remodeling had already begun, and things were beginning to look how he visioned it. Hannibal didn't mind playing his part, he just enjoyed the company.

Shew! This is probably the most dynamic piece of finished, besides one that I forgot to upload here... Anyways. I really enjoyed doing this, and it probably only took me like... Idk. 6 hours tops. Which i think is pretty good for me! I'm really proud of this.
Critique is totally accepted though, thank you!

Hi!  I’m here from with some constructive criticism.

Overall, I like what you’ve done here.  The shading on everything looks great, particularly the horse’s mane and tail.  It’s also interesting how the tranquil background, which you’ve portrayed with a nice soft beauty, contrasts with the bucking horse.

One thing that sticks out negatively to me, however, is how the horse looks relatively calm even as its leaping into the air.  It’s a bit tricky since your reference’s pose looks basically the same, but without the context of the dust being kicked up by its hooves, it’s difficult to tell from a first glance that the horse is bucking, especially since the part of the mane covering the eyes gives the horse a rather docile-looking design.  I think you could convey the motion better by making at least part of the mane and tail look like they’re being blown back by air resistance.

The light source in the picture, though a less noticeable issue, is also a bit unclear.  The mane’s lighting would be fine on its own, but the clouds look like they are being illuminated from the left, not from above.  With that being said, the mane should be a little less glossy to the right side of the horse’s neck (its left), because it’s not in direct sunlight.  Furthermore, your horse doesn’t have a shadow indicating which direction the light is coming from, leaving it looking a bit detached from your otherwise excellent background.

The horse’s proportions look mostly good, but the legs are a little off, I think.  The hooves on the front legs look like they should be just a little bigger, and the transition between the hip and lower section of the hind leg (sorry, I’m not good with official anatomical terminology ) should be a little more subtle, as there really isn’t a visible knee-like segment there.

However, like I said before, I think you did a great job with this painting.  With a bit of tweaking, I think it could be a true masterpiece!

Keep up the excellent work!

Nice bronco! His physique is well built, and you captured a very dinamic part of the jump!

You're welcome!
The horse is not an easy animal to draw, at least I found out like this

Yeah, I find difficult to draw their legs. I admire you for that, not only you did them but you also moved them!

Coming from

first I'd like to comment on the background. I really like it it's simple but you know what you're looking at! It almost looks like a storm is bellowing. It's so cool. now, onto the horse. Horses are seriously possibly the hardest things to draw besides humans. Their joints and portions are so hard to get right and memorize. I must say you've done an amazing job. I'm glad that you're not going with the whole "spirit stallion of the cimmeron" style. It's a great style, but everyone uses it. It's awesome your style is unique and recognizable. The shading is very well done. Nothing to point out that I see wrong, which is AMAZING! Realistic and accurate shading is extremely difficult to get correct on horses! So that's wonderful! the only thing that's bothering me with this lovely drawing of yours is the horse's anatomy. The body and neck look amazing but the legs are what's giving me trouble. The hind legs are much larger than the front legs. The back leg's joint is much to high I reckon, and should be lower down on the legs. As I've already stated the front legs need to be much longer.
heres some tutorials that will help ^^ but don't be discouraged, the legs you drew are pretty okay, just a few things to point out~

Oh my gosh this made my day, I'm almost in tears ahhh. Thank you so much. I'm so glad you like it. And thank you! I like to think my style is unique, although maybe a little 'softer' than I would like. But i'm working on it ;u;

The legs killed me. No matter how many adjustments I made they just would not do what I wanted! Thank you so much! I've been trying to practice drawing legs because I think I have a hard time with their proportions, and with not making them look all wibbly wobbly. Thank you so much for the links!

I really really appreciate this!
