"Mr. Warthog how does it feel to once again prove the critics wrong?"

"Brrrrtttt!"

"Interesting, do you have any words of wisdom for those facing the same critics?"

"Brrrttt...brttt!"

"How do you feel about the F-35?"

"Well I find it absolutely hideous to be honest. Then again not everyone was blessed with my supermodel appeal."

Fun fact: If you were to strap a GAU-8 to the top of a family car, point it backwards, and start firing with the car in neutral, you would be exceeding the legal speed limit in three seconds.

Fun Fact. Firing the Avenger for more than 5 seconds at a time will cause the A10 to stall.

The original Rate of Fire (4200) and the Use of Pure DU Rounds in the Late Cold War could have accounted for this disparity also.

Thank you. I have been misinformed about this since the mid eighties. It was not so much a rumour as what the pilots and engineers of the time were saying. Probably misinformation so that the enemies of the US thought that they could not correct onto them. In a strafing dive at full power, it would be difficult to stall anyhow. Thank you for the link and the updated information. This has been my favourite aircraft since they were widely introduced throughout Europe in the 1980s. I am glad to hear it.

Can find no reference anywhere to the original rounds used, I may have been mistaken. I remember the quote from "Warplane"in 1989 though "...At its full rate of fire the entire plane shudders and the bursts have to be limited to 2-3 seconds or there can be a risk of stalling the aircraft!"again, this could just have been disinformation or it could have been the truth. I am not qualified to say, but the argument presented in the Stars and Stripes is also flawed in the assertion of physics in that 1. It makes no allowance for the aeroplane climbing (If the burst was fired whilst climbing with a full load and fuel, gravity would be on the side of recoil. 2. It makes no allowance for the compounding effect of the recoil. and 3. The physics only take the weight of the projectiles into account and not the size of the propellant. I would cite the difference in a .22 Cal Short, .22 Cal Long and .22 250. These all have the same weight of projectile but a marked difference in recoil. I am willing to accept that the recoil of this weapon has no dramatic effect on the speed of the aircraft (And am pleased about it), - yet it isn't something to be done with flawed and incomplete analysis of physics. I take the pilot's word for it (As I did originally when the opposite was contended). It is a moot point. I will not make this assertion again. I thank you for drawing my attention to this link and public story. My intention was not to argue the wrong thing. I did not mean to cause offence and hope that you will at least concede that this statement was not made without previous qualification, however erroneous the information that we receive from the manufacturer, the US Military and all related entities past and present. With Respect.

Also, if that situation were real, the F-22 would be dead. It couldn't get away quickly enough.

there are no pilots in that picture. Jets are talking to each other like people. This is a joke. In joke-world animals, cars, stone, trees can converse.
The explanation of the image above is that "two friends were talking to each other (the raptor and the warthog) and one of them was running his mouth pretty fast, guess which one was that?Β

to help you understand more, see the work of this artist here who personifies jets. I thought it was a common knowledge..

I have this nasty feeling that the Warthog would actually beat the LII in a low altitude turning battle, as well as being a much better bomb truck. (incidentally an F-15E is also a better bomb truck than an F22, and has the same air to air persistence.)
