The F15 is a wicked, wicked plane. The only fighter I know of that can launch a satellite killer missile. Love that plane.

I see it as a quite elegant plane, more like a gentleman wearing a suit and a tie, this is because it has broad shoulders (intakes) and straight body lines. Anyway, that was my perspective but I am sure other planes can carry that missiles as well.Β

I think the F-15 is the only plane built with a high enough thrust to weight ratio to allow acceleration in a vertical climb. Thus allowing it to be the first stage of the satellite killer missile. If I recall, they only tested the missile a couple of times, and only USED it once, on an out of date US satellite, slated for destruction.
The plane really is a beautiful piece of work. A most excellent air-superiority fighter/bomber. You consistently pick some standout airframes as your subjects!

Oh believe me, the F-22 can do that and more. I see the F-22A doing the vertical climb very often. The F-22 can reach supersonic speed without using its afterburner, a feature called cursing and only the F-22 has it right now. Watch this link:Β www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCEMg7β¦ Β
