Another day, another mishap at Distorting Incorporated. Or DistortInc. for short. This time fellow colleagues Sophia and Kyuta seem to be testing some sort of instant recovery system from being flattened. Ok Kyuta. Kyuta that's enough tests. Kyuta-

My Thoughts:
For my longer-term fans, you may recognise this type of animation from a little while back. It was the first Sophia animation uploaded to my DeviantArt! Check out the original here:

I was chatting with a friend of mine and he constantly discussed why he enjoyed this original animation. After a while, I was convinced and tried recreating it with Sophia's casual outfit. Although, it didn't get far (sta.sh/01edkah8lera ). After he talked about it again asking for her in her secretary outfit, I thought that could be a really good idea and it would work perfectly with the location of DistortInc. I decided to also include a bit more depth (lmao) by adding Kyuta, the other colleague at DistortInc. and make a little story out of it. The animation didn't really feel ready to upload until I added that extra segment with Kyuta in. It really shows how far I've come as an animator as the original animation was uploaded in a heartbeat and I was chuffed with it. Now, if I just gave up after FULLY animating Sophia here and not having the Kyuta part, this would have never seen the light of day. I like my animations to feel like finished products, and the original quick loop, whilst good, was not good enough for publishing standards of mine. Adding the extra segment added so much meaning, story and emotion behind it. Look, I'm not George Lucas or anything but I think a piece of art has so much more depth when there's a REASON for a character to be in a situation. It's more real, and thus more enjoyable as you can relate it to something in your mind which makes you enjoy it more as you don't feel alienated for seeing Pyra flattened by a Thwomp or something. It's actually why I started making my own scenery and backgrounds. Sure, I do use game scenery from time to time like Peach's castle, but I try to adapt it to be original now with additional objects in the scenery hand-made. Something I can call my own through and through. So the thing to take away from this animation and why I don't upload as much anymore is simply a matter of quality. Not every uploaded animation hits the way I want it to, but at least you can look at it and say "Yeah. That's a finished product."
