edit:
Incase anyone declares "omg art theft! this is a screenshot!!"
"So putting your watermarks on a scene from the film is artz now???"
.... I want you to go and find the exact screenshot that this was taken from if you so seriously think so. And then I'll show you the original sketch, redefined sketch, and compare it to the finished product.
I swear no one can just "draw" anymore.

Wow, you really are amazing if people are seriously accusing you of screenshotting! It's unfortunate your hard work is so good that idiots harass you over it though.Β
The colors are really gorgeous. I love the sky and shades.

Do you have any speedpaints or recordings of you drawing from start to finish? I don't have photoshop (yet) and I want to learn how to use Paint Tool SAI more.

I am sorry but I do not. But there are loads of artists out there who make such videos. All you ought to do is search up speed drawings in whatever program you have/want on youtube.
Good luck on learning ans such!

Ah, I see. It's just that your artwork looks so close to the actual film, that I want to know how to replicate that effect.

Well, I say to everyone. Study the film and try to replicate it to the best of your ability.
Here's a journal that I had written that may help you out there;
art tips?Β Β Β Β Β Β Β I get asked a lot to make tutorials, to teach people this or that when it comes to art, or a certain thing I like to draw.
I'm not a teacher, or an expert guys. I am just some random chick who likes to draw a lot and who practices drawing a lot. I don't think I would be very good at teaching or explaining. I cannot give out information like a teacher would. On paws or anatomy. I am no expert. However, I do give advice though, and my advice is usually the same.
If you want to draw a certain animal, research the animal. Watch documentaries, look up anatomy sketches, and photographs that inspire you. Even inspiring art, something that puts you in the mindset and gives you understanding of the animal. Research the animal inside and out to get the full understanding of it's anatomy, movements, attitude, weight, expressions, body language, markings, proportions, everything. The good, the bad, and the ugly. Learn it all. And then sketch and sketch an

Getting movie Colors for TLK styled characters?WELL!!!
I have 2 notes and a comment or two asking how I get movie colors. So, instead of repeating myself, I figured I'd just make a journal about it. To share with everyone all at once! This can be a long one.... so bare with me.
THIS IS ALL THE RESULT OF MY PERSONAL PRACTICE AND OBSERVATIONS OF THE LION KING STYLE AND FILM. These methods and observations Β may vary from your own observations, just do some trial and error. and good luck to it!
This could also possibly work for any other animal character you want to create. Color tone wise. not just for TLK
Some of the tips here can be obtained by certain digital art programs. I am personally familiar with Paint Tool Sai and Photoshop Elements 4. Anything else? You might have to look up a tutorial online. Remember, Google and or YouTube can be an artist's best friend these days! So many references, tutorials, and tips!
Guys, let me try to explain this, it is not that difficult to try and get your movie colors on your o

Blurring things, adding textures if I want. Playing with lighting, adding logos, then flattening it all together to make the final image

People that comment the things you've mentioned in the description are lame fans. I'm not into insane fandom, but even I've seen The Lion King enough times to know if a picture has been taken as a screenshot or originally drawn.
Just take them as compliments, it means your art is awesome

Oh wow! As a die hard fan of the original movie, I can totally vouch for you and say that this is NOT a screencap! What this is is really, REALLY gorgeous! I'm really impressed! You've captured him so...perfectly. I just love this! I do wish the watermark wasn't on his face and, to be honest, I would LOVE to see your pencil sketches just because I like seeing those sorts of things. It's a nice way to see how each artist works.
