Anyway, with that said, The Secret Files of the Spy Dogs. Despite the Jim Benton character design being one of the countless things I've taken influence from, I actually haven't heard of the this show until at least the end of 2017 during my senior year in high school, when I was searching up some retro animations that looked somewhat close to the style of my high school drawings that I was aiming for (you know, besides The Simpsons and Garfield). Apart from a couple obscure cartoons like the 1971 National Film Board of Canada short Evolution and the 1993 Australian short-lived series Philbert Frog, this seemed like the third closest match I could find.

Oh, and... did I mention that this was created by children's book illustrator Jim Benton of Dear Dumb Diary and Franny K. Stein fame? The same guy who also brought us this child-pleasing cutie ? It is kinda sad how, as of 2019 as I'm writing this, Benton hasn't really gotten around to creating new official animated work since, because I do think this is an entertainingly cute show that makes the most out of its silly premise with some nice voice acting and a steady pace that keeps both the setup and the action straightforward. This is coming from someone who's only seen a few episodes, and not even in a particular order (as some episodes were difficult to find, even on Google).
