But this was, and still remains, the one thing that bugged me since I saw the teaser last week for this episode. LOCK UP, TWILIGHT.

I KNEW something was going to cause the fans to incessantly bitch. It has happened in almost every season finale. And you know what? Just about every time the fans are proven to be overreacting. This conclusion isn't even that bad compared to others.....although I have a SLIGHT problem with villains like Starlight being so easily redeemed....that's all I agree with. Otherwise the fans are doing their usual over reacting.

I agree, that's happened with most of the finales, especially with Twilight's Kingdom and especially Canterlot Wedding (only some of the fans do it IMO).
For me, Starlight's redemption honestly feels kinda rushed.

When one of your mortal enemies can just walk up to your home and put into motion a plan that can destroy Equestria as you know it (multiple times), you'd think Twilight should invest in better home security.
File this one under "probably never going to happen":
I hope next season addresses how it may be time for Twilight to protect herself better. She can defend herself just fine and she's been doing the whole Princess thing very low-key so far; she's got the castle, the wings, the recognition, and the (sort of sporadic) duties. However, she may need to upgrade into a more official princess role, and one way of doing that is by having some kind of personal guard force (all other princesses, even the ones from alternate timelines seem to have one). I think this could make for a good story about Twilight furthering her Princess career and it would raise some important questions about what could happen to Ponyville if such a change happened: would it still be the same little town it's always been or would it become more like a kingdom like Canterlot or the CE? Knowing Twilight, the big Princess treatment would probably make her uncomfortable, so she'd settle for something modest like, say, having a handful of ponies (or maybe just one) who can act as her personal bodyguards, look after the castle while she's busy, etc.
If only there was some kind of underused character begging for a big breakthrough who could fit a role like that...

I thought this was gonna make a joke about how there are no guards at the castle. Seriously, almost every MLP reviewer on YouTube noted that. You may be a Godess Twilight, and a super smart Princess, but how can you be that irresponsible about your security? Shame on you

To be fair, guards never succed to stop anyone. One cake was enough to distract them, and they always vanish when villains escape with a stolen artifact. Finding competent guard is dificult in a show where almost always main heroes look good because everyone else are useless.
