What if the sky was pink?
Would you smear your pollution all through it like ink?
Would you stare at it every morning and think,
“what if the sky was blue….
I wonder what would we all do?”
And you’d sit and stare and not even care
And not even respect the beauty that’s there
Then would you drive to work in a car that’s cleaner than the sky
The new car that’s not keeping that sky pink but turning it gray
Drive over the bridge and look at the smog
Admiring it thinking its morning fog
Thinking its natural, clean, misty air
Breathing it in letting it blow through your hair
Wondering if it’s a low-lying cloud
Smiling and laughing with the car windows down
Whistling joyfully at a bird nearby
In two days your car pollution will make that bird die
