Just a suggestion, colour the stars (with a new layer for colors), and variate theyr intensity of light (with "clouds" filter 
It would make the picture much more "space visual"

Yeah I've been beating my head against star backgrounds for awhile, that was kind of an early piece, your advice should help me out.

a good nebula technique is hard to come buy. mine changes constantly. nice picture by the way
