Description
Harvey Dent was the upstanding Distract Attorney of Gotham, fighting to end its rampant crime and corruption. However, in his personal life, Dent had been plagued with mental health issues, namely dissociative identity. These issues boiled over when acid was thrown in his face during a cross-examination, horribly disfiguring his face and a split personality developing and taking over. Dent is now a feared gangster amongst the Gotham underworld called Two Face, deciding major decisions and the fates of others with the toss of his scarred, double headed silver dollar, which used to be Dent's lucky charm

Reason for casting: Christopher Abbott has been one of those actors who I've been eagerly following ever since seeing him in It Comes At Night. He's mostly known for playing John Yossarian in the Hulu miniseries Catch 22 and Charlie Dattolo on the HBO series Girls, but has done film work in movies like A Most Violent Year, First Man, and Vox Lux. However, what convinced me to use him as Harvey Dent was his performance in Brandon Cronenberg's Possessor Uncut, which was one of the best horror films of last year. Abbott carries a majority of that film, as he plays a man with two identities in the same body, which reminded me of Two Face. Add in his role as a man with psychotic urges in Piercing, and he'd make for a fantastic Two Face. He'd work great off Robert Pattinson, and it be interesting to see a take on Harvey that focuses on his mental illness and dissociative identity disorder (as Matt Reeves has said that he wants to explore the characters' psychology in his Batman trilogy).
