At Pack Square in Asheville, NC, orgaizers held a Slut Walk protest on Friday, April 22, 2011. It also happened to be on the Good Friday before Easter, but was not intended by organizers to have any correlation.

The protest was in reference to off-handed remarks made by a Toronto police officer, Michael Sanguinetti, who told a personal security class at York University that "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized."
