Description Our Cessna 208 "Caravan" loads up.

This aircraft has a "Non Factory Standard engine." The plane was re-engined by Texas Turbines, and is called a "Supervan.

Super is an understatement. Throttle up to exit in eight minutes.

Spaceland Dallas is your home DZ? May I ask what's your opinion of it, relative other places you've jumped?

Any thoughts on the training program that Spaceland uses? A friend is looking at the program at Spaceland Houston.

It used to be Skydive Dallas. The owners retired, and Spaceland bought it.

A big capital investment was made, which included a paved runway, AC in the hangar(thanks  so much!), a replacement caravan, and a good bunkhouse.

The only downside was that our great, photogenic Schoolbus otter got painted over to become a faceless corporate bird.

After having jumped in the "Wild West" days of the sport, it is a high rule DZ. Lodi and Sheridan were where I grew up. This can be good or bad depending on who you are.

The AFF program was replaced with the STP, and I don't see any problems from this. Perhaps it will be the future of the sport.

Does that help?

It does, yes. Thank you for the reply.

My friend is particularly trying to figure out if STP compares favorably to AFF.

It isn't causing anything bad. Some hardcore AFF instructors don't like it.

A serious step up from the 207 in terms of capacity.
