I think I'm going to like this camera - I wasn't sure when I decided to buy it. Most people seem to be moving from DSLR to mirrorless and I've gone the other way!
First impressions, apart from the huge leap in image quality...
Size, with an equivalent lens, it's about 200g heavier than the Olympus, which is insignificant - particularly as I don't have another lens to carry about (I only have the 50/1.8). So my overall load is lighter. Interface is a little clunky.
Build quality is as good or better and probably better where it matters most.
Two card slots, magic! I have one for RAW, which I put on my computer, and the other for JPEG which I put on my iPad. RAW files are twice the size.
All good!

good for you John they are a nice camera thats a fact, i enjoy the two slots which just ads to my enjoyment, ahhhh well i'm lugging mine around with a 24mm twist and tilt that weighs in at 680g so all in all it feels heavy but the quality of the images is amazing ....

but i've just heard the news ....

Mamiya Leaf has today announced the release of the Leaf Credo 50 , a 50-megapixel medium format digital system. With a wide range of ISO settings – from ISO 100 to ISO 6400 – the latest addition to the Credo line uses a high resolution 50 megapixel SONY CMOS sensor, and promises to offer greater versatility and higher performance, says the company.

but its a tad expensive

I'm just waiting for the rumoured fixed-lens Fuji with the same sensor - which I won't be able to afford either! However I'm very happy with the D610 which seems to be a very nice balance of size, features and price. Familiar as I am, at this point, with all the reviews ever written, there are those who believe that, in terms of balance, it's the best thing Nikon make. I'm not qualified to speak in those terms but I do know I'm getting very comfortable with it very quickly - and I am not at all easy to impress.

Nor did I, Chris, but sometimes life throws up a pleasant little surprise. There are a couple of little things I miss from the Olympus. When I'm outside I like to shoot with a viewfinder, optical or electronic, either will do. However in the studio I prefer a monitor. The olympus' tilting screen may have been delicate(!) but it worked well. I need to sort out a way of shooting the D610 tethered to my iPad and I'll be happy!

Apparently a Nikon WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter and the appropriate iPad app will allow me to preview the image and fire the camera although not adjust the settings. That under 50 quid. A few hundred will get a system which has full functionality. I think the former will do me fine - I'll be standing next to the camera, after all! I'll keep an eye out for a used one on eBay.
