Description A lot of people have been using Pacific Rim's Jaeger designer to create fanart and their own Jaeger types. I recently saw the movie...it was visually awesome, told a lot more of the story with dynamic action and emoting, and gave the viewer an experience. So, seeing a bunch of this stuff going around...I designed my own fan Jaeger.

Dragon Ascendant was a latecomer to the Kaiju war, and is now mostly a relic. While nominally a US Jaeger, her design and construction was a direct international effort, mostly to solve problems in Jaeger deployment (cost and repair). Post-war, she exists as a testbed, a training platform for large-scale engineering and systems maintenance, an emergency power generator for the Southern California region, and, if the Kaiju masters ("Precursors") prove to have a larger civilization and additional rift generators, a ready weapon.

The maintenance capital, post-war, is usually provided by major universities and scientific institutions with interests in science and engineering...the UC system, MIT, and CERN among them. The main structure comes from German design by Mercedes-Benz, the fission/fusion turbine was designed by General Atomics (USA) and manufactured by Rolls-Royce (UK).

The central chassis is similar to that of Gipsy Danger (in fact some of the engineers have called Dragon Ascendant "Gipsy's daughter" because she shares so much of the original Mk.3 design plus the later modifications in Hong Kong), save for the powerplant, which has a smaller scale fission reactor which hot-starts a compact fusion reactor. Also like Gipsy Danger, her control systems are analog, modeled along a living nervous system. This doesn't give her accelerated responses like Striker Eureka, but it does make the controls far more resilient and fluid. Other systems are a bit more sealed, but the fusion powerplant gives electricity to spare. When grappling, she can put a feedback through the reactor's central solenoid to act like a giant tesla coil...effectively turning the Jaeger into a large-scale contact tazer without the electricity riding deeper into the chassis.

Dragon's powerplant system uses an analog management structure.  The delicate operations of managing a fusion reactor are mostly managed via a pentuple-redundant system of vacuum-tube computer/power management systems.  These assemblies are incredibly resilient, heavily armored, and maintain the operations of the main reactor through all power demand levels.  The vacuum-tube management arrays are not only EMP-resistant, but also resist any radiation from the reactor core, making the powerplant robust in many situations.  The vacuum tube systems also allow the onboard BlueGem systems to manage the powerplant without feedback effects.

The right side arm is reinforced at the joints, and carries an overdriven plasma cannon in the right hand. The left arm is heavily reinforced and carries a chainsword in addition to the S-11 dark matter cannon. This leads to a compromise...the dark matter cannon has a longer time to charge owing to the arrangement of hardware. However, she can utilize a flexible "sword and shield" combat tactic with room for adaptability should limbs become compromised.

Her avionics are also expanded to utilize handheld secondary ordinance, including the proposed GAU-320 ranged minigun, the proposed JM-10 "stormer" rifle (which uses "metalstorm" ordinance developed in Australia), and the JM-4 narrow-band "strobe" grenade, a cross between a MOAB and a flashbang for tactical advantage. Of these, only the GAU-320 entered construction, and was only partially completed before the first (and hopefully only) breach was sealed. This secondary ordinance can be utilized by any Jaeger which can pick something up with a simple software patch and avionics upgrade.

If the Anteverse tries to pick a fight with Earth again, Dragon Ascendant can be activated for combat within fifteen minutes at minimum (with additional time allowed for a pilot team to be located and transported to the facility).

Any tips on getting the website to work, for some reason the webpage won't load and it's being a complete pain in my rear.

It's only as epic as the pilots.  In this fanon she's only a testbed, and helped Mako Mori develop the chainsword weapons that helped Gipsy Danger be awesome.  It comes down to the pilots.  And I am neither Beckett nor Mori, nor am I Gottlieb nor Geisler, nor Stacker nor Hansen.  They are the heroes.

If the next breach opens up near Hawaii...I'll meet you in the middle.
