Description
Would you believe me if I told you this was old? Standby//Update 24 Aug 2018//
Alright, so now to dish out an explanation for this piece.
This concept was mainly motivated by how my co-author and I are frustrated with TCW's use of tanks and their respective vehicle crews. What we aspire to do in the series (much like the pilots) is have their vehicles heavily modified with a tactical purpose. Here, you can see that the main front guns have been replaced with more anti-personnel weaponry, because face it- if a hostile comes real close and they aim their cannons lower they'll just damage their walker or break the seal in the cockpit cabin. Also, the main cannon's operator is always exposed, take for example during the battles of Teth and Geonosis- those gunners are taken out fast and you've an unmanned cannon and a vulnerable tank crew. So much like how the modern military has adapted to that by up-armoring our Humvee's and MRAP's, the 77th will also do that, with an enclosed seat with numerous cameras and viewports to better protect the gunner. The missile/rocket launcher was mainly added because there was nothing in that spot and I felt that the AT-TE is much akin to WW2 Sherman tanks with what all can be added to them.
Finally, the tank commander in the forefront- of course he needs to be in his vehicle but we wanted to showcase the design of the commander to differentiate from the standard crewman. Additionally, he is holding a device that can manually activate certain weapons systems, in this case the launcher that just received a lock. We have yet to name this commander, but when we do I will update this description. The paint scheme is also a reference to how Hasbro made the Speeder Bike Recon/AT-TE Assault Squad battle pack where all the clones were adorned in a gray paint scheme. We wanted to keep this element but also have the 77th colors emblazoned- I hope you share in my sentiment that it fits fairly well! You'll also notice that there are some Security Forces clones waiting for the charge order, equipped with the modified DC-15 one can remember from the 2003 Clone Wars series, basically the M4/M16 with M203 attachment of the Star Wars universe.
Thanks for waiting on this update, and I hope you enjoy this concept!

I agree with the sentiment that artillery was tragically underused in TCW. They deserve all the love they can get. #CombatEngineerLivesMatter

I really like this idea, I always thought of the gunner of the main-gun on the AT-TE being exposed was quite cringey, even today most of the tactical vehicles in the US military have some sort of remotely operated weapon system so that the crew can operate a machine gun or even an automatic grenade launcher without exposing themselves and the main weaponry of things like tanks and IFVs have been operated from within the safety of the vehicle since they were conceived.
Of-course, it is very obvious things like realistic tactical design when it came to the clone's armor and their vehicles doesn't really exist since that's not really what George Lucas and his team focused on. I am still morbidly outraged on how the LAAT/c doesn't have not only a co-pilot, but a load-master aswell. What happens if the main pilot is hit or his controls are damaged? The entire LAAT and whatever it carrying crashes into the ground and is destroyed on impact. And with no load-master, how does the single pilot even tell that he isn't landing his cargo on unsuitable terrain, the edge of a cliff, or a damn Sarlacc pit? It all doesn't make sense.

Preach it, friend!
I've always felt the same about Gunship crews, as if a crew of one is capable of doing what at most 3+ are supposed to divide and do. I feel they took out some of the middle-man by adding the astromech droids (to fighters/bombers) but these Gunships need to be manned. Gotta do a comic strip with those carrier LAATs, where they end up off-loading them like absolute shit.

Okay, so can we please get a SWBF2 mod with this AT-TE tho? I mean c'mon man, that's amazing! And if we had the 77th in game and the uncharted regions as maps, we could do a whole little campaign! Tal and Hawke would be the heroes for most of the maps, and we could do some crazy enemy re-skins for hostile natives. I could voice the 77th journals like the 501st campaign! It'll be great!!!

No I mean the good SWBF2. I wish we had the dice clone models, however, the gameplay is far inferior in my opinion. It's just less fun.
