Description Good Morning all, I present to you a concept exchange between the Red Arms Clone Marshal Commander Roh and our ARC Captain (Turned Red Arm Grunt) Tal. This takes place right after an order was passed down to level a village of miners outside a resource deposit that the Republic wanted but the villagers politely declined. Tal and Hawke were split up, between Tal leading a team of SPAR suits for security and Hawke's platoon peacefully negotiating with the natives on foot. Upon relaying the village chief's refusal from Hawke's team, Roh passed the orders to pull the troops out of the village. Let it be known that at this time, the Red Arms have been "cordial" and actually bonded with the villagers during their tour- from playing with the children, helping the elderly and experiencing their culture. This was the "grooming" phase before the offer to utilize their mine was extended. Hawke, not wanting to pollute their relationship of the past weeks, takes his leave and does not press any further. The troops pull out whilst the villagers are say their farewells.

Tal, with his SPAR team forming a defensive perimeter around the village are passed along orders to level the village from their AWACS/Control- Callsign: "Nimbus". Nimbus relayed orders from Roh, Callsign "Taskmaster" to level the mining village. Tal is taken aback by the sudden order- questioning in his mind the validity of it all. Every operation up til this point was standard GAR doctrine- this was the rising action. Tal's response was unsatisfactory, especially to his Second in Command of the Security detail. Before he could respond, he notices his SPAR team close in on the village- breaking their defensive formation.

At this point, Hawke and his platoon have exited the perimeter and he tries to hail Tal to ascertain what's happening. But before that, chaos and hell rain. The aftermath will be covered in more detail later- but this scene takes place after the debriefing.

Is it wrong of me to compare commander Roh and EMIYA the counter guardian to each other?, essentially I guess they see themselves as nothing than cleaners forced to kill again and again and again, and I guess that broke Roh like it did EMIYA and Roh in some way sees himself akin to a machine as well and might even possibly despise the person he used to be, but I'm sure it might take a while but surely there might be hope for Roh yet so he can at least become some semblance of the person he used to be before becoming cynical, right?

We follow orders or people die, except when we follow orders that require others to die. Who is this Commander Roh guy? I want to have a word with him! He's up there with Commander Fox in the short list of most hated clones. The guys that are total pricks to the clones with any degree of humanity. Gosh it feels like sacrilege to hate on a clone...why do guys like Neo, Fae, Fox and now Roh exist? They make it hard to support their legions...

That is exactly the sentiments I want people to garner! Though there is more to his demeanor than meets the eye- imagine having access to almost all GAR information, keeping up with the times and seeing other units get recognition- only to return to the world of your line of work where your orders/purpose don't allow that comfort- let alone a Jedi. Much like comparing the SS to the Wehrmacht during WWII. Much like Thrawn, there'll be some interesting pieces inside of Roh's office that reveal much of the kind of Clone Commander he is. But I know how you feel, though I guarantee there will be some aspects you can agree with Roh and his beliefs- mainly due in part to how much he is aware of his own doomed fate as a clone.

A good soldier follows his orders. An even better one knows when to question them.

Very true statement- a prime embodiment of this piece. Thanks for the input!

I love it when clones question authority. Puts a good dramatic story into play.

I feel the exact same! There's enough cookie cutter that'll come during the Empire era, why not throw a wrench in during the Clone Wars?
