Description
Having seen The Dark Knight Rises a few times now I have to say that Tom Hardy's performance as Bane has left quite an impression!Chris Nolan's Batman movies have adapted & interpreted classic Bat foes such as The Joker, Two Face, Scarecrow & Ras Al Ghul in a manner that honour's their comic book counterparts whilst elevating them to new heights through excellent writing, direction & top notch acting. As a comic comic villain I never felt the same power & thrill with Bane on the printed page as with the above named rogues however in TDKR I saw a text book example of taking in my opinion a sub par character from the comic book source material & transforming that character into something extraordinary in the cinematic medium.
Whilst the movie overall really won me over it was Hardy & Nolan's Bane that really blew me away!
And kudos to Anne Hathaway who completely knocked it out of the park as a very definitive Catwoman.

I wonder myself if circumstances were different what that movie would have been like. Still the final movie turned out to be a terrific final part of the overall story imo.

Cheers, love your own take on Bane, charcoal is something I've found difficult to work with but you seem to have it well mastered!

I don't know if it was intentional, but I like how you exaggerated his facial expression. His eyes are even MORE intimidating.

Thank you, yes I did put a bit of extra emphasis around the eyes, that's what really drew me to the ref pic,the intensity of expression.

Excellent piece! I agree with your comment whole-heartedly. For me, the TDKR stands out the most from Nolan's trilogy because of Bane [and Catwoman, she deserves to be mentionned]. I mean it's amazing what Tom Hardy could do with just his voice and eyes in the movie.
