Description
Forest Princess, in repose,Putting off her evening chores,
Soon she has to make her round,
Of creatures sleeping, underground,
Wakening them from daytime slumber,
Rousing them to nocturnal plunder.
First she will wake the grumpy badger,
That always moans as he shuffles past her,
To stir the foxes she will skip around,
Till the cubs rush out to her happy sound,
They nip and tumble and chase each other,
By the watchful eyes of their drowsy mother.
Then off she will run, so fast and far,
To tease the owls (she knows just where they are!),
As she loudly sings, with wind in her hair,
They POP! awake with a startled stare,
Heads twist and turn as they wildly blink,
(They are not as wise as you may think!).
So homeward bound, she will finally rest,
And remember the foxes, she likes them best,
The reason, for us, is plain to see,
They are clever and cheeky...
JUST LIKE SHE!
