Description
What a happy day: I’ve created my first working, albeit simple, game in Flash. As my Game Design assignment implied, I designed and coded my own version of the Atari classic Pong. Regardless of being a very simple concept, Pong can still introduce a fun experience. My version of Pong is stripped of the two-player affordability, and is instead a battle against yourself and the physics of the game. You control the paddle on the left of the screen, moving with the up and down arrow keys, in attempt never to let a blue ball hit the wall behind you. Every time you return the ball to the other side, its horizontal speed is slightly increased. In addition, you gain a point for every return (your score is found in the bottom right). Every 10 points signifies a new level. The levels are very simply designed: they are sharp increases in the horizontal and/or vertical speeds. Despite being a simple mechanic, it can make the game quite difficult and unexpected.Related content

I made it entirely in Adobe Flash, programmed with ActionScript 3.0.
