Description Vista Style Shell for XP SP2 and SP3.
The download contains two (2) Shell32.dll's. One with a 'double folder', for those who like them fat, and a "single' folder (Microsoft default) for those who like 'em traditional. Either one will work with either Service Pack. (See screenshot)

Updated! New optional Recycle Bin menu entry

The desktop context menu (right click) is exactly as shown.
I've also removed the keystroke underlines, as they do not appear in Vista.

Again, credit for this shell goes largely to others, including, but not limited to KampongBoy94 (icons), Picassa243 (bitmaps) and Desktop Squared (for Copy/Move dialogue. If you see something of your creation, please let me know at once, and I'll credit your contribution.

Also, again, I have tried to limit the size of Shell32 to under 15 MB while still including the realism of much larger shells. This allows for faster and more stable loading-up and avoids the RAM over-run notice Windows exhibits with larger Shell32 replacements.

The throbber, though I don't use it, has been updated.
Several AVIs have been as well.

Always backup system files before replacing.

Directions: Using the enclosed Replacer utility, put shell32.dll into your System32 directory and restart your PC. If some icons appear not to have changed on rebooting, consider downloading TweakUI, a small utility from Microsoft (free) or another icon cache cleaning utility.

Hi Orbit! Man, I can't believe anyone's still visiting these old shells, let alone downloading them. I'm going to hide the conversation above. It's been several months since it happened, and I don't think that those little flare-ups is what is all about.
Thank you for your kind remarks. I just downloaded your authui mod for vista and am going to try it. Kinda tired of the Orb.

Thank you, Flawless. I'd completely forgotten about this deviation until someone brought it up in another context. I'm surprised you found it at all, lol!

Yeah, it is compressed, Burner. So when small files are copied quickly, it tends to pop up but not stream. Give me your email addy and I'll send you a cute little workaround that uses very few resources. I assume you mean my "copy" and "move" avis.

Hi, Hemagoku.
Sorry I'm late answering, but I don't get on Deviantart much and if after 24 hours I haven't blown up anyone's system with my mods, I don't usually check back on them. (Prolly why I don't get any comments or Favs, lol!)
Anyway, the orb you mention isn't properly part of Shell32, but Windows Explorer. I'm using Windowblinds 6.2, but there are many excellent Vista Shellstyles available here on DA that will give you that for free.
There are also many wonderful icons available singly or in packs here on DA that you can use to customize individual folders the way I have in my documents folder, for quick identification.
The Shell32 library only addresses system icons, dialogs and menus.

Thanks, Ruben, lol!
I wouldn't presume.
Besides, according to Jeremy, he's already created THE perfect shell.
This one is for those of us who can live with 'almost perfect'.
Chuckle.
