i am wiccan and it is not satanic we believe in the same god as the Christians except we make natural medicines with the earth god has given us instead of going to a doctor and putting things in ourselves that our body doesn't need . however you do have the pentacle correct and also for those who dont know this IS a Pentacle not a pentagram. it is a common mistake for people to think of it as a pentagram however pentagrams point down and are satanic and if the pentacle has an elongated point then it is also considered satanic. ^^ just some background so every one gets the point (lols point)

I revere Cerrnunnos and Cerridwen, the Celtic mother and father gods.

i think that the reason wiccan and satanic are confused is because of the star
when people see the star, they instantly see Satan's star, but really, Satan's star is upside-down.

It is in part because of the ideas Christianity placed, wiccan is seen as having some ideas in Magic (forgot the way I think wiccan spell it). In Christianity many believe magic is satanic in itself, and that they can be satanist follows just by using magic. (like they are selling their soul)
On historical reason may be also be the God of wild things Pan who I think by the wiccan was known as the Horned one. Was as part of Christianity's ideas to convince more followers by making it seem like one of the gods that wiccans sometimes have (From what I have heard from speaking to several the gods seem to be different depending on where the wiccan is from, and weather they follow independently or as part of a organized group) is in fact satan (If you notice in cartoons and all that horns are used to show someone is evil because of this influence a long time ago.)

I think this a lot, but am slightly offended that you've referred to Wicca and Satanism as though they are the same. Wicca is a very peaceful religion of which I am proud to be a part of. I don't worship 'Satan' or follow any other Satanist traditions.

Those of us who are Wiccan (wiccan is actually a specific term for a branch of paganism) practice a duotheistic religion of a Goddess and a God.

and the Green Man (though some worship the Sun God, or the Horned god, or a variant of all three)

I think it's the fact that the star of satan is simply the pentagram turned upside-down. The same way the reversed swastika is associated with Nazis.

The idea that wiccans worship satan came from Hollywood. People believe this because of the pentagram, even though it is only the UPSIDE DOWN pentagram that is a satanist symbol. Just like how the nazi's took a purely esoteric symbol, reversed it and turned it into a symbol that means something entirely different. Cheers.
