.hypocrite?.i am not a poet.
rhyming your words
is a hobby of fools.
i consider all rhymes
the worlds' footstools.
i sneer at the poets,
i laugh all the time.
how silly that sounds...
"he was desperate for a rhyme"
whats that you say?
I'm rhyming MY words?
you liar! you poet!
im not those nerds.
i have special motivation
and i see what you all lack:
some humor in your rhythms,
a tiny joke or wise crack.
poems can't be sad.
they represent our life.
and is our life all sadness?
all worry? and all strife?
have we forgotten limericks?
and how 'bout Dr Suess?
i do not like green eggs and ham,
i will have the goose.
so when this poem started
you all thought me looney.
but i am NOT a hypocrate;
i simply hate-to-be gloomy.
hence: i am not a poet,
in the way you know it now.
but i may join you one day,
and now i've show you how.

wow... this struck a chord with me because i just wrote a poem about writing poetry... except it's only got one or two jokes i there. i was going to call it hypocrite.... but there's 100 different poems called hypocrite... haha (not)

Simply perfect. Honestly this one poem describes a million things and perfectly done. the flow was...perfect, I basically sang through it all and yes the funny sentences made me HAVE to put this in my favs.
amazing job, the reference to dr.suess and everything was perfect. I love it....simply perfect!

Nicely done, though it could use a bit of revision (like adding an "n" to shown in: "and now i've show you how.")
Though it's tru not all poems have to rhyme, I usually do that with mine Lymerrics seem to be too few here, maybe I'll have to change that and make some more...
