Henry's audio log did reveal he and Joey founded the studio together as partners,
and likewise Henry may've been Joey's "shoulder angel" when it came to certain things.
When Henry left, no one was there to tell Joey when he was wrong,
and he just made poor decisions that brought his would-be empire to ruin.
Weirdly, Joey may resent Henry simply for not being there to control him.

Yep!Β It's likely that Henry was Joey's much-needed "voice of reason," and following his absence Joey seemed to go off the rails.Β Either he just naturally had poor judgment, or he was depressed by Henry's departure, we don't really know.Β Potentially condemning him to a time loop might read as a "payback" of sorts though, who knows

Joey also appeared envious of how Henry's life turned out compared to his own,
and part of the reason for trapping Henry was to take his "loving family",
and leave him with what remained of his "crooked empire."
But, there are some other theories that state that it is more than a Time Loop.
Some believe Henry is actually trapped in a Cartoon version of the old studio
(and, that he himself was turned into a Toon, or at least a cartoon version of himself.)
Would explain why the cycle keeps repeating.
AND, how Henry is able to survive falling from great heights that SHOULD at least cripple him.

That Joey, crooked to the end!Β I hadn't thought of that, him wanting to trap Henry in order to gain what he had...
I've heard of that theory!Β Someone did some fanart recently of Joey literally sitting down at an illustrating desk and drawing Henry's whole adventure, seemingly controlling Henry with his pen.Β Poor Henry!Β At least when you're a cartoon you can't get hurt after falling from heights or getting knocked on the head, but you also have no will of your own...Β

Another version of that same theory implies that Henry
was turned into "Perfect Bendy" (much like Allison and Tom
are the Good Alice and Boris)
But, if Henry is Bendy, he may resemble the version
that he initially drew (the cute one from his old desk that Joey rejected.)
If this is true, then it would explain how Sammy
recognised him, yet couldn't quite place his face..
And, Henry's hidden message of "Who am I now?"
on the mirror that cast no reflection.
