A slash from his sword cuts through the wind, as the thought of an old conversation comes back to him. He stood on his own at the banks of the river taking no refuge from what was called as 'the past'. But why? Why does it still haunt him? What does it want from him? It was neither his eternal sorrow nora corrupt and broken life. It was "to realize what you have done and what life could have offered in the middle of every problem"- well that what his old mentor said to him. Old? Yes, old. Lets just say,that problems constantly change to solutions and more problems, in his life.

"I know, where you're going with this dude, there would always come a time when we should let something so dear to us…

"I am sorry, but this is all for today. You may now leave…". He ordered, then soldier came in the room and took him away.

"You cant do this to me, aru! Don't you turn your back on me!", he shouted the sound of his voice slowly fading away from the doors, as he was screaming out his name.

He took a short sigh and walked through the room, picking up a family picture of them from before. "I'm sorry, Yao but… past is past…", and ended his short self talk by overturning the picture frame facing the table.

Walking down the halls and to his room, he stops in front of a room, hearing tears and sobs from inside. He then sits behind the  walls and asks.

"Hey, why are you crying?"

Then, from your room you replied, "B-b-because I heard of a sad story of girl and her family. She had a happy life and had everything that she wanted, a family that treated her as their own, friends, and some one very dear to her- someone who taught her more than what meets the eye. "

"What happened to her?"

"Her family started revolving in front of her, being taken away from each other and living a separate life fighting for something the girl never understood. "

"Is that why you're crying..?"

"yes… I pity the girls so bad. I wish I could do something to help her.."

"I really wish I could too.."

"Y-you don't have to go any further Alfred-san.."

"Nah, its okay, we all encountered it anyways..

The deeper his mind goes back, the harder his grip was holding on to the sword. He knew he was loosing emotional  balance, but he just couldn't stop the feeling it brings back.

"h-hey umm.."

"Yes?"

"Can you tell me why we're here again..?"

He just stopped on his pace, and breathed out the bad aura he was starting to feel.He looked back at you and smiled,

"Today is a special event."

"Really? What is it?"

He didn't answer you, he just started walking towards the trees and bamboo branches. You looked confused, and just went to the flow of everything then ran towards him.Looking back, you seem to loose him. Not finding where he was, you started to run inside the branches and to where ever there was more space to move. Finding light from outside,
you went to towards it and,

"woow!"

You found yourself a secret garden, Cherry blossom trees all around you, the petals falling from different directions and flowers of different kinds , with a red bridge in the middle of them all. Walking slowly towards the bridge, a sudden voice
calls.

" It seems that you already found my surprise."

You turn around and hugged him, so awed on what was to be something for you. But then you came to this silence of confusion,

"surprise? Why surprise?"

"Because, today is your Birthday ____"

"Y-y-you mean—"

"Yes, __________. I'm grant you your independence. Doing this may help return the smile of the little girl in the story. Only, you're no longer little girl ."

You started crying some more and let it all soak up in his coat, as he finally
listened to your side of the story.  But he didn't care about his coat, he just wanted you to be happy at last. And though it hurts to watch this behold on him, he was always willing to give you what you have deserved since then.

Let me tell you this, it would always hurt at first, but the best thing you could get from it is knowing that shes still smiling because of you.."

"so is that how you felt for Maria..?"

"Apparently, yeah.. that day, it was hard for me to do what was right, but it's harder to keep her in hold than grant her the promise I was willing to achieve with her."

He had his eyes closed for a second, not wanting the tears to shower down on him. Until, he started hitting the tree near him. Realizing this, he opened his eyes and struck his sword on the ground and threw his body down. And just let go of all the emotions he has been hiding for so long. Finally having the strength to stand up, he did so, placed back his sword and started walking deep the forest of trees and bamboo. And ended up to what his memory has turned back on him- the secret garden.

He just stood there, his clothes shifting to the breeze, but no more tears. Just a deep sigh of what he had recalled.

"It seems that you already found my surprise.", a feminine voice said from behind him. He turned around and by surprise found,

"_ -__________?"

"KIKU!", you shouted running towards him, the same drops of tears from before, streamed down your face. But again, he didn't care. he just wanted you to be happy at last. And though it hurt to watch this behold on him, he was always willing to give you what you have deserved since then.

"I see…but I have a question.
                         You did say that its right to let go,
…but.... What if..
                                       What if it comes back?"

"Well, if it does come back,
                                        Then, Keep it. "
