red runs along limbs and hairs
Heart pulsing,
ever pushing for life
even though the brain has long given up:
The queen in her bone palace
has surrendered to black armies
that conquer her country with slow but strong and unwavering certainty.
Thick like syrup, and just as tempting,
these soldiers cover everything in their way:
sickeningly sweet and smelling like eternal darkness.
Thus the queen persuades the body with a final attack
(although against or for her country is uncertain; )
and asks for the help of a knife...
