To be fair Butterfree has more of an advantage over Beedrill in both type and movepool.

also unusual in that the stat distribution of the real version is more extreme than this one.
I think the real mega beedril is one of the most improved pokemon when it mega evolves. It's useless SpA is reduced to almost nothing and is all added to attack. Those precious extra points of mega-evolving were not wasted on trying to shore up it's defences (which are so low it was never going to be much) but all focused on speed and attack.

I'm not sure how much beedrill would benefit from its normal moves being poison. The only normal move it learns leveling up is fury attack. I guess you could teach it Return but...
