I hope that'll be Hoenn during the period of Generation 6, rather than just a remake. Game Freak showed with BW2 that they can and are prepared to continue stories in their main-games and not just their side-titles, such as the continuation of Colosseum into XD.
Therefore, do we really want the same story as Ruby and Sapphire again, but with new typing and attacks? People have been making fangames for years with new types and attacks, but essentially being Hoenn as it is in the official titles.
So until we get some ACTUAL information about this, I for one will be reserving judgement on the two games.

Sorry, but Satoru Iwata confirmed few hours ago that Omega and Alpha are just "remakes" that will follow the original Sapphire and Ruby. But look how Fire Red/Leaf Green and SoulSilver/HearGold were amazing for remakes !

Like Firered and Leafgreen for Red and Blue, or Heartgold and Soulsilver for Gold and Silver, now Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire for Ruby and Sapphire are coming out.
This fact started a little Hype, since everyone is excited to play this, obviously.
