Description
A couple folks in Rooke's Army (the team making NuzRooke Sun) were wondering about expressions, so I doodled up this tutorial on how I basically do expressions. My way is by no means the only way, or the best way - it just happens to be how I approach expressions at the moment. ^^ So if you want to steal something from it, go for it!-Rooke

Upper eyelids and lower eyelids will be your best friend then. ^^ Take a look at some of the expressions I did for Dear Dragon or characters like Scout in NuzRooke for good examples!

Ok, I think I have some ideas on how to emote.
Thank you for these suggestions.

Thank you not just for the tutorial, but for the passage about originality at the end. "Nothing is original" has been my mantra for YEARS and the way you put it is just perfect. I was literally just talking to a friend about this subject days ago (in the midst of an overall discussion about copyright and comic monetization) and I'm gonna copy/paste a section I wrote because you're the first person I've seen so far who's expressed this viewpoint too:
"I have a different perspective on what qualifies as 'stealing' creations...or more accurately, I think people need to adjust their views on what makes a creation 'theirs' in the first place. Not to say that taking a carbon copy of someone else's work and marketing it as your own is in any way okay, but there's a vast difference between that and something like [a Nuzlocke], which uses the very base concepts of the in-game Pokemon universe and little else. Yours was probably more influenced by NofNA (for example), but you don't feel like you're 'stealing' that work, because adopting the framework of a pre-existing world feels worse than integrating the themes of another, even though it really isn't. The fact is, the individual elements of [a Nuzlocke] are 'yours' as much as those of any person's creation are 'theirs'; that is to say, not at all. Every piece of it came from somewhere else, even if you're not consciously aware of it. It's the combination of those pieces -- how you put all those elements together to create something new -- that's what makes it yours."
Sorry for jamming my two cents in there, I just feel pretty strongly about this so I'm excited to find someone who thinks the same way :'D

It's good to know that I'm doing some of the expressions in a similar manner in my own nuzlocke, but this has shown me ways to improve and expand on what I do. Hopefully I can utilise this is future.
